Biography

Born in Port Fairy, Victoria, Thomas Joseph McNamara was a married 35 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 24th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln on the 4th of May 1916.
Thomas returned to Australia on the 24th of September 1917, and was discharged as medically unfit on the 31st of October 1917 due to bronchitis and trench feet.
