Born in Ballarat, Arthur Edward Morton was a single 27 year old book binder at the time of his enlistment in his hometown on the 24th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A34 Persic on the 3rd of June 1916.
Arthur returned to Australia on the 7th of August 1919, and was discharged on the 22nd of September 1919 due to demobilisation.
