Biography

Frank Sullivan was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was a widower and a Labourer when he enlisted with the 7th Battalion, 14th Reinforcement on 27 July 1915 at the age of 37. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 Themistocles on 28 January 1916. He proceeded overseas to France, where he was wounded in action on 19 July 1916 with a gunshot wound to the æupper extremities'. On 16 September 1916 he marched in to Etaples from Boulogne. On 25 September he was penalized for absenting himself from parade without permission. He completed the remainder of his term of service, returning home to Australia due to rheumatism and haemorrhoids on 27 July 1917.
