Biography

Harold William Davies (SN 3537) was a 22 year old, unmarried teacher when he enlisted from Yandoit Hill on July 27th 1915. Born at Homebush, near Avoca, he joined the 58th Infantry Battalion. During his service he was promoted to Corporal, wounded in action in France, and was awarded the Military Medal for outstanding bravery under fire. He died of wounds incurred near Villers-Bretonneux on April 5th 1918, and is buried in La Neuville British Cemetery, France.
