George Richard Holmes was a single 22 year old labourer when he enlisted in Ballarat on the 17th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A41 Bakara on the 5th of November 1915.
On the 7th of April 1918 he was appointed Driver.
George was discharged due to demobilisation on the 15th of July 1919.
