Howard Cecil Williams (SN 4330) born in Ballarat , was a 19 year old tailor when he enlisted in Ballarat on August 12th 1915. Assigned to the 14th Infantry Battalion he embarked aboard the Demosthenes on December 29th and sailed to Egypt. He was hospitalised shortly after arriving before being returned to Australia aboard the Demosthenes and discharged on July 12th 1916 ‘mentally deficient’.
