Biography

Henry Francis Reubin Pett was born in Waterloo, VIC and was a Driver living on Raglan Street, Ballarat, Victoria when he enlisted in the 21st Battalion, 14th Reinforcement on 2 August 1915 at the age of 20. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 Themistocles on 28 July 1916. On 3 March 1917 he was admitted to Hospital for trench feet and later was wounded in the field with a severe gunshot wound to the thigh, resulting in amputation of the right leg on 10 October 1917. He returned to Australia 16 March 1918.

His brother, Pte John Andrew Pett, 58th Bn, returned to Australia, 15 May 1919, also served (Tree No. 2125)
