Biography

Rudolph Roy Bieske (SN 3625) born at Geelong, was an 18 year old clerk when he enlisted at Melbourne on August 4th 1915. He embarked aboard the Ceramic on November 23rd and sailed to Egypt. In June 1916 he was moved to France to serve with the 5th Division Signal Company. Aside from a bout of influenza, his service was serious incident free and at war’s end he returned aboard the Wyreema, disembarked at Melbourne on May 31st 1919 and was discharged on July 25th. He also served during WW2 with service number NX128605.

His brother Harold also served in the AIF and is honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
