Biography

George Walker (SN 4322), born in Ballarat, attended the Dana Street State School. As a 30 year old labourer he enlisted in Melbourne on August 6th 1915. He was allocated to 46th Infantry Battalion and embarked in late December aboard the Demosthenes and reached France in June 1916. On April 11th 1917 he was killed in action at Bullecourt. As he has no known grave, his name is on the Australian Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
