rthur John McGann (SN 10035) was born in Melbourne but living in Ballarat when he enlisted as an 18 year old storeman packer in July 1915. Assigned to the 6th Field Ambulance he embarked aboard the Suffolk on April 1st 1916. While serving in England he was hospitalised with a dental problem. In September 1917 he was deployed to France where he served through the remainder of the war. After the Armistice he was assigned as a Red Cross representative about the troopship Waimana. He was returned to Australia aboard the Aneas reaching Melbourne on January 9th 1920 before his discharge on September 26th.
