Leslie James White (SN 2324) born at Sebastopol, first enlisted on January 8th 1915 but was discharged ‘medically unfit, epilepsy’ a month later. He was a married 24 year old horse breaker when he enlisted again in Ballarat on August 18th 1915. Assigned to the 22nd Infantry Battalion, he embarked aboard the Hororata on September 27th and sailed to Egypt where his epilepsy again became a problem. He was returned to Australia aboard the Themistocles, disembarked at Melbourne on January 2nd 1916 and was discharged on February 25th ‘medically unfit’.
