Norman Hankin was a single 21 year old chauffeur at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat, Victoria on the 8th of September 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A63 Karoola on the 19th of August 1916.
He returned to Australia on the 5th of March 1919 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 12th of April 1919 with an unknown debility.
