Biography

Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Ernest John Kebby was a single 28 year old salesman at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 16th of August 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln on the 4th of May 1916.
He was promoted from Extra Duty Pay Sergeant on the 21st of August 1916 to Extra Duty Pay Corporal on the 11th of January 1917, To Corporal on the 24th of January 1917 to Sergeant on the 13th of November 1917.

Ernest returned to Australia on the 11th of October 1918 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 16th of November 1918.
