Biography

Born in Ballarat, Victoria and a bank clerk by occupation, Frank Page Alston was 22years and single when enlisted on the 27th of August 1915 with the rank of private from 8th Battalion, 14th Reinforcement Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 4427. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 'Themistocles' on the 28th of January 1916. Appointed Private on the 30th of September 1916; temporary Corporal on the 1st of October 1916; Corporal on the 19th of August 1917; Temporary Sergeant on the 20th of August 1917. His War service was at the Western Front. Embarked return to Australia per 'Boonah' on the 20th of April 1919. Disembarked on the 8th of June 1919 and Discharged from the 3rd Military District on the 20th of September 1919. Tree No: 1902
