Biography

William Ernest Doherty was born in Bairnsdale, Victoria was married and was employed as a Camp Cook. He enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria at the age of 44. He volunteered and was stationed with the 14th Battalion, 15th Reinforcement later transferring to the 12th Light Trench Mortar Battery with the Regimental number 4788. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 13th of March 1918. Tree number 1903.
