Maxwell Dight Walker was born in Sydney, NSW, was single and working as a Chemist in Ballarat, Victoria when he enlisted with the 2nd Casualty Clearing Station on 6 September 1915 at the age of 18. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A62 Wandilla on 9 November 1915. His service with the AIF was short as he received a commission with the Royal Flying Corps on 1 September 1916. Unfortunately, his digitised AIF records cease to report on his status after this.
