Biography

Francis Henricus Murray (SN 2212) born in Melbourne, was a 22 year old bank clerk when he enlisted in Melbourne on October 16th 1915 . He embarked aboard the Wandilla on June 6th 1916. After further training and an extended hospital stay, he reached France in April 1917 and joined the 2nd Pioneer Battalion. He returned to Australia ‘for family reasons’ aboard the Ulysses and was discharged on November 27th 1917 .
