Biography

Thomas Francis Richards (SN 2155) born at Eldorado, was a married 35 year old engineer with three children when he enlisted in Ballarat on October 26th 1915. He trained with the Light Horse before embarking aboard the Barunga on April 7th 1916 and sailing to Egypt where he was attached to the Imperial Camel Corps. In December he contracted malaria, and that with associated health issues caused him to be returned to Australia aboard the Euripides. He disembarked in Sydney on February 21st 1917 and was discharged medically unfit in Melbourne on March 28th.
