Biography

James Patrick Flynn (SN 496) born in Stawell, was a married 41 year old station hand when he enlisted in Maryborough on November 3rd 1915. He embarked aboard the Orsova just nine days later and sailed to Egypt. He served in the Middle East with the Anzac Police and the 1st Remount Unit, avoiding battle wounds but frequently being troubled by health issues. He returned to Australia aboard the Lancashire and was discharged on May 23rd 1919.
