Born in Ballarat, Samuel Morris was a single 35 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment on the 12th of November 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on the 7th of March 1916.
Samuel returned to Australia on the 31st of December 1916, and was discharged as medically unfit on the 27th of February 1917 due to a heart disease.
