Biography

Born in Ballarat, Douglas Frank Martin was a single 21 year old clerk at the time of his enlistment on the 15th of November 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A7 Medic on the 20th of May 1916. Douglas was promoted to Sergeant on the 16th of April 1916, and then to Staff Sergeant on the 12th of December 1917.
Douglas returned to Australia on the 7th of August 1919, and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 22nd of September 1919.
