Thomas Tournier (SN 5250) born in Ballarat, was a 38 year old bricklayer when he enlisted in Ballarat on November 22nd 1915. He embarked aboard the Suffolk on April 1st 1916 to serve with the 6th Infantry Battalion but shortly after arriving in England he was diagnosed as suffering from epilepsy. He was returned to Australia aboard the Ajana, disembarked at Melbourne on December 8th 1916 and was discharged medically unfit on January 21st 1917.
