Biography

Norman Leslie Daniel (SN 2033), born in Ballarat, attended the Humffray Street State School. As a 20 year old railway porter he enlisted in Melbourne on December 21st 1915. He left Australia in May 1916 on board the Port Lincoln to join the 60th Infantry Battalion. He was wounded near Peronne, France, on August 30th 1918 and died of his wounds the following day. He was 23 years of age and is buried in the Daours Communal Cemetery, France.
