Born in Bendigo, Carl Hansen was a married 25 year old chemist at the time of his enlistment on the 7th of January 1916 in Ballarat, Victoria. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A23 Suffolk on the 1st of April 1916.
Carl was discharged on the 4th of February 1920.
