Biography

Born in Ballarat, Albert Edward Middleton was a single 28 year old barrister and solicitor at the time of his enlistment on the 10th of January 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on the 11th of May 1917.
In 1916, Albert was promoted in January, February, March, and October from Lance Corporal, Corporal, and Sergeant to Second Lieutenant.
On the 24th of February 1917, he was promoted to Lieutenant.
Albert was discharged on the 17th of May 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
