Biography

Born in Gordon, Victoria, Albert Joseph Irwin was a single 19 year old farm labourer when he enlisted in Ballarat on the 11th of January 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on the 7th of March 1916.
On the 16th of May 1916, Albert was appointed Driver.
He returned to Australia on the 22nd of May 1919 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 1st of August 1919, his debility not being stated.
