Biography

David Moore (SN 4593/5153) born at Manchester, England, was a single 44 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne 19th of January 1916. He trained initially with the 14th Infantry Battalion at Warrnambool before being assigned as a reinforcement for the 22nd Battalion. He embarked from Melbourne aboard the Anchises on the 14th of March 1916 and sailed via Egypt to England where he was transferred to the 5th Sanitary Section. He served in England until the war ended and was returned to Australia aboard the Port Lincoln, arriving at Melbourne on September 14th 1919. He was discharged on December 3rd.
