Biography

Teele Henry Nesbitt (SN 5325) enlisted on January 31st 1916 as Thomas Harry CROSS and the deceit was not discovered until after his death. He was born in Ballarat, but enlisted at Leongatha where he worked as a farm labourer. He was 21 years old and single. He joined the 24th Infantry Battalion and embarked from Melbourne in August. On October 6th 1917 he died of wounds sustained at Broodseinde, and is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
