Biography

Born in St. Arnaud, Victoria, John Kitchen was a single 32 year old labourer when at the time of his enlistment in Horsham, Victoria on the 26th of January 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A23 Suffolk on the 1st of April 1916.
John was discahrged on the 18th of February 1918 as medically unfit due to a hernia.
