Ernest William Dingwall (SN 533) was born in Inverness, Scotland, and came to Australia as a 17 year old. He enlisted at Liverpool, Sydney, on March 4th 1915 and joined the 19th Infantry Battalion. He embarked from Sydney on board the Ceramic in June. While serving at Gallipoli he took ill with cerebro-spinal meningitis and was evacuated to the 27th General Hospital at Mudros. He died on January 4th 1916 and is buried in Portianos Cemetery on the Greek island of Lemnos. He was 19 years of age.
