Stanley Magrath (SN 2273) born at Ballarat, was a 22 year old clerk when he enlisted in Melbourne on September 17th 1914. Assigned to the Australian Army Service Corps he embarked aboard the Armadale on October 20th and sailed to Egypt. In June 1916 he was moved to France where he served without significant illness or injury. He was granted ‘1914 leave’ and returned to Australia, disembarked at Melbourne on Christmas Day 1918 and was discharged on February 23rd 1919. He also enlisted to serve during WW2 with service number V350809.
