Biography

David Albert Baird (SN 214) born in Horsham, was a 26 year old photographer when he enlisted in Melbourne on February 1st 1916. Assigned to the 37th Infantry Battalion he embarked aboard the Persic and reached the battlefields of France in November. He came safely through the war and returned to Australia aboard the Themistocles, disembarked at Melbourne on August 7th 1919 and was discharged on September 22nd.
