Biography

Arthur Edwin Wilson was a married 41 year old carpenter and joiner, originally from England but resided in Ballarat at the time of his enlistment on the 8th of March 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on the 27th of May 1916. On November 21st 1916 Arthur was transferred to the 37th Battalion where he was promoted to Corporal on the 7th of April 1917. He returned to Australia on the 22nd of May 1918 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 29th of August 1918 suffering with tachycardia.
