Joseph Falconer Campbell (SN 5059) born in Scotland, was a 43 year old marine dealer when he enlisted at Ballarat on February 4th 1916. He embarked aboard the Suffolk on April 1st and sailed via England to France which he reached in August. He served through the war with the 1st Division Salvage Company and avoided serious illness or injury. He returned to Australia aboard the Port Denison, disembarked at Melbourne on May 20th 1919 and was discharged on June 24th.
