Biography

Thomas Nelson was a single 30 year old farmer at the time of his enlistment on the 7th of February 1916. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A30 Borda on the 5th of June 1916.
On the 15th of February 1917 Thomas was wounded in action, but rejoined his unit on the 25th of April 1917.
On the 8th of June 1917, Thomas was wounded in action again. He rejoined his battalion on the 10th of October 1917.
He was promoted to Corporal on the 27th of November 1917.
Thomas returned to Australia on the 23rd of March 1919, and was discharged on the 30th of April 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
