Biography

Alfred Williams was born in Ballarat and enlisted there as a labourer on 14th December 1915. He was a 29 year old bachelor. He was sent to the 57th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 1791. Later he was transferred to 60th Infantry Battalion. On 17th October 1917 he died of wounds inflicted in the trenches near Passchendaele, and is buried in the Lijessenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium. Tree No. 2152
