Biography

Born in Ballarat, Herbert Reginald Randolph Kibby was a single 21 year old painter at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 26th of August 1914. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A54 Runic on the 19th of February 1915.
On the 18th of August 1916, he was wounded in action and invalided to England on the 25th of August with gunshot wounds to his legs and neck.
On the 25th of August 1918, he was wounded for a second time after being gassed.
On the 25th of January 1919, Herbert left England, and returned to Australia on the 23rd of March 1919. He was discharged as medically unfit on the 22nd of May 1919.
