Biography

Creade Anthony Foster (SN 1285) was born at Vancouver in Canada and was a 26 year old married engineer when he enlisted in Melbourne on March 1st 1916. On May 27th he embarked aboard the Ascanius. He reached France in November 1916 to serve with the 39th Infantry Battalion. In July 1917 he was wounded in action, gassed, and evacuated to hospital in England. Once recovered he returned to France and served without major incident until he developed a knee problem that prompted his return to Australia aboard the Saxon. He was discharged as medically unfit on March 15th 1919.
