George McLarty was born in Ballarat, and enlisted from Sunbury, WA, on 14th March 1916. He was 33 years old, married and employed as a cooper. He was posted to 1st Tunneling Company, Australia Mining Corps, with Regimental No. 5386. He died from gas poisoning and pneumonia on 4th November 1918, and is buried in the Overleigh Cemetery, Chester, UK.
