Biography

Arthur Edward Ferguson (SN 6378) was born in Scotland and was a married 37 year old stationer when he enlisted in Melbourne on March 8th 1916. Posted to the 8th Infantry Battalion he embarked aboard the Euripides on September 11th. After further training in England, he moved to France in August 1917. While on the Western Front he was wounded twice, a gunshot wound to his arm and a severely bruised back. He was returned to Australia before the fighting ended and was discharged ‘medically unfit, nephritis’ on August 10th 1918.
