Edwin Archibald Craig was born in Kingston. He was 36 years old, a widower, and a farmer living in Ballarat North when he enlisted on 11th March 1916. He was appointed to the 58th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 1643. He was killed in action during the fighting around Villers-Bretonneux on 27th April 1918. He is buried in the Crucifix Corner Cemetery, at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
