Henry Joseph Stevens (SN 912) was born in Little Bendigo, and enlisted there on February 18th 1915. He was an 18 year old, unmarried bootmaker when posted to the 23rd Infantry Battalion. He reported ill on Gallipoli and was being evacuated to Lemnos on the Hospital Ship Simla when he died of diphtheria on September 10th 1915. He is buried in East Mudros Military Cemetery, Greece.
