Biography

Colin John Davies (SN 6001) born in Melbourne, was a 38 year old married cook when he enlisted in Ballarat on March 11th 1916. He left Melbourne aboard the Themistocles on July 28th and in November he reached France to serve with the 39th Infantry Battalion. While he had some illness problems and some minor brushes with military authorities, he avoided battle wounds. He returned to Australia aboard the Lancashire, disembarked at Melbourne on March 31st 1919 and was discharged on July 1st.
