Biography

Terence Smith (SN 3615) born in Durham Lead, was a 29 year old labourer when he enlisted at Geelong on March 15th 1916. Assigned to the 29th Battalion, he embarked aboard the Orsova on August 1st. He reached the battlefields of France in November, but illness forced him back to England. He rejoined his unit in France in June 1917 and served there until he was wounded in September 1918. He returned to Australia aboard the Ceramic, disembarked at Melbourne on March 23rd 1919 and was discharged on April 30th.
