Percy Fowler (SN 452) was born in England but enlisted in Ballarat as a 28 year old labourer on March 19th 1916. He embarked aboard the Ascanius on May 23rd and came ashore in France in November to serve with the 39th Infantry Battalion. Aside from a minor wound in February 1917 he completed his service without significant injury or illness. He returned to Australia aboard the Rio Pardo, disembarked at Adelaide on July 17th 1919 and was discharged on September 4th.
