Biography

Born in Beaufort, Victoria, George Henry Bartlett was 38 years and married when enlisted on the 20th of March 1916 in the 8th Battalion, 19th Reinforcement, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 5975. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 'Themistocles' on the 28th of July 1916. Private admitted to hospital for Scabies in France on the 1st of February 1917. Private admitted to hospital sick in France on the 26th of August 1917; 11th of March 1918; 24th of June 1918. Embarked return to Australia on the 12th of May 1919 per 'Soudan'. Disembarked on the 29th of June 1919 and discharged from the 3rd Military District on the 13th of August 1919. Tree No. 2257
