Biography

Born in Ballarat, John Gordon Hutchins was a single 22 year old irons moulder at the time of his enlistment on the 20th of March 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on the 27th of May 1916.
He was wounded in action on the 7th of June 1917 and invalided to the U.K with gas poisoning.
John returned to Australia on the 27th of February 1919 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 6th of April 1919.
