Biography

Born in Ballarat, Jeremiah James Hayden was a single 38 year old insurance inspector when he enlisted on the 14th of April 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Orontes on the 16th of August 1916.
On April 10th 1918, Jeremiah was wounded in action. He was invalided to the U.K. to be admitted for a gas shell wound. He returned to Australia on the 11th of October 1918 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 29th of November 1918.
