Born in Ballarat, Arthur Stanley McPherson was a single 26 year old hairdresser at the time of his enlistment on the 18th of April 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Orontes on the 16th of August 1916.
Arthur returned to Australia on the 2nd of March 1919, and was discharged as medically unfit on the 26th of April 1919.
