Victor Cecil Jennens (Capt.), born in Ballarat, was a 33 year old married dentist when he enlisted on April 16th 1916. Initially posted to the 24th Infantry Battalion he embarked aboard the Themistocles on July 28th. After reaching England he was transferred to the Australian Army Dental Corps with whom he served through the war. In June 1918 he was hospitalised suffering from influenza but otherwise avoided illness or injury. His appointment was terminated in England on September 22nd 1919 but he returned to Australia aboard the Bremen in mid-1920.
